Welcome to
Here at Murray Custom Saddles... I specialize in
custom handmade saddles and tack. Being horse back is a great past time
that is enjoyed by many, in different forms, like ranch work, rodeo, cutting
horses, cow horse competitions, team penning, sorting, gymkhanas, barrel racing, ropings, and just plain ole
trail riding, horse back riding is a true passion for many. I make custom
hand made western saddles, tack, rifle saddle scabbards, saddlebags, and also have a few used saddles for all
your horseback needs. What I have learned over the years is, that you can
still have the old time look with the new ways of building a saddle.
Myself, I still like the old look and the big skirts, with the floral designs
and nice tapaderos on that Old Style Visalia saddle.
About My Saddle Making Influence...
I want to also say that my good friend and mentor Bill Maloy, a member of the Traditional Cowboy Artist Association, and has been a big influence in the direction that my saddle building has went and the pride I put into my saddlery. I have made saddles for sometime before meeting Bill and after that, he started helping me to take my work in a direction that it needed to go in. I now build my saddles in a manner I have learned from Bill and take great pride in my work. He is a more than master at what he does. I can only strive to get to where he is, and just keep doing what it is I do with my saddle work.

When I am not making Custom Saddles and Tack, I also spend a lot of time horse back, and I know

fits your riding style and needs. I also can tell you that to better your

along with it. Using low quality saddles and tack is not a good
investment, nor will it fit you and your horse with comfort like it should.

buying tack over and over again. Maybe it is time to look at quality and not

So I only use the
finest saddle skirting from Wickett and Craig of America, the best Stainless, brass or monel hardware, and strive
to make each individual saddle unique. I hand cut all my leather and do all the
work myself and make sure it all comes together like it should be. Like
any other hobby or passion, you need the right tools and equipment to get the work done right. My saddles are made
from the finest materials to last a lifetime and are tough enough to endure the
